Moulana Salmaan Fredericks

Moulana Salmaan is originally from Port Elizabeth and graduated from Darul Uloom, New Castle in 2006 and was of the last class taught by Moulana Cassim Mohammed Sema.  He completed his tutelage under most of Port Elizabeth’s Ulema and was mentored as assistant Imaam by Sheikh Shamiel Panday.  He is deeply rooted in international solidarity and was part of an envoy delivering aid to the people of Gaza in 2011.  Moulana studied LLB while engaged in community social impact activity and graduated with his LLB degree in 2012.  He worked as a Mergers and Acquisitions Attorney at a leading law firm on the African continent where he worked on a number of large Islamic Finance transactions.  He returned to Port Elizabeth in 2017 to start his own M&A practise and serves as an executive member of the regional SANZAF Board, Chairman of the regional Black Management Forum and conducts weekly Tafsir classes at the Masjid Taqwa.

We should realise the importance of consistently acquiring knowledge and constantly striving towards bettering one’s self in all aspects of life not only for the benefit of the individual, but for the benefit of the Ummah and ultimately the pleasure of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
