Sheikh Muhammad West

Sh Muhamad West, born in Cape Town, South Africa, spent most of his youth growing up in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He went on to study a degree in Islamic theology at the world renowned Islamic University of Madinah while studying a degree in accounting science through the University of South Africa (UNISA) via correspondence concurrently.

Muhammad returned to Cape Town in 2011 graduating 2nd in the faculty of Dawa. He further qualified as a chartered accountant of South Africa after completing his articles at PwC. A devoted husband and father of three, Muhammad is currently the Senior Group Financial Accountant at one of the world's largest retailers. 

Muhammad holds the position of resident Imam of the Boorhaanol Islam Masjid, one of the oldest mosques in South Africa. He is furthermore the Western Cape director of the Imam Development Project (IDP) whereby 150  imams are given the necessary support and skills to further benefit the communities they serve. 

Muhammad West serves as an international guest lecturer for the AlKauthar Institute, and is currently hosted on Muslimcentral with over 300 lectures.

As of 2018 he was appointed as the Director of Finance for the International Open University, the worlds largest online Islamic university.
